Compassionate end-of-life care for your clients, at home.
Compassionate Paws provides in-home pet euthanasia and end-of-life support for dogs and cats across Perth.
We work alongside referring veterinary teams to help families access calm, personalised care at home while maintaining continuity with the clinic they already know and trust.
Pet Quality of Life Assessment.
Give families a practical, veterinary-informed way to reflect on their pet's wellbeing. Clients can return to their assessment to track changes over time and print their results to discuss with their regular veterinarian.
No printing required for clients to use the tool. Assessments are saved in their browser.
A gentle option when home feels right.
For some patients and families, avoiding another trip to the clinic can make an already difficult day feel a little calmer.
Care in a familiar environment.
Pets can remain at home, surrounded by familiar people, smells and spaces, without the stress of another journey or waiting room.
Time, dignity and compassion.
We guide families through what will happen, allow time for questions and work to keep each visit calm, respectful and centred around their pet.
Clear communication.
We are happy to communicate with the referring clinic and notify your team following a visit so relevant patient information can remain connected.
Clinic resources and education.
If your clinic would like information to keep on hand for families considering an in-home goodbye, or resources for your veterinary team, we'd be happy to provide them.
Brochures for your clinic.
Request Compassionate Paws brochures for your reception area, consult rooms or team to give families when an in-home goodbye may be appropriate.
Request clinic brochures →Referral information.
We can provide your team with a simple overview of our service, referral pathway and what clients can expect when they contact us.
Request referral information →Team education & PD.
We're happy to discuss clinic education or professional development around end-of-life conversations, quality-of-life decision making and in-home euthanasia.
Discuss education for your team →We complement your care — we don't compete with it.
We understand that your relationship with your clients may extend over many years and across the lifetime of several pets.
Compassionate Paws exists to provide a focused in-home end-of-life service when that is the option a family and their veterinary team feel is appropriate.
We are not trying to become your client's general veterinary provider. Where a family has a regular clinic, we want them to continue using that clinic for their normal veterinary care.
Focused on end-of-life care.
We do not provide routine vaccinations, preventative health care, general consultations or ongoing veterinary services intended to replace their regular clinic.

info@compassionatepaws.com.auWhat should I include?
A short referral is fine. The following information is usually helpful:
- Clinic name and referring veterinarian
- Client name and contact number
- Pet name, species and breed
- Reason for referral
- Relevant clinical history
- Current medications where relevant
- Any additional information that may help
Support for the final stage of care.
Some families know immediately that they would prefer to say goodbye at home. Others need more information before they can decide what feels right.
We are happy to support those conversations and provide clear information about what an in-home appointment involves.
Veterinary care from people who understand how difficult this is.
Compassionate Paws is a family-owned Perth veterinary service run by Dr Jared and Dr Jo.
Dr Jared is usually the veterinarian families meet during a home visit. He takes a calm, practical approach, explains each stage clearly and gives families the time and space they need.
Dr Jo works largely behind the scenes, helping shape the service's approach to compassionate, low-stress veterinary care and supporting communication with families and clinics.
More about usInformation for referring clinics.
Which patients may be suitable for referral?
In-home care may suit families who would prefer their pet to remain in a familiar environment, pets who find travel or clinic visits stressful, and families who would value additional time and privacy at home.
Can clients contact Compassionate Paws directly?
Yes. Clinics are welcome to email a referral directly, or simply provide our details and allow the client to contact us themselves.
Will you take over my client's routine veterinary care?
No. Compassionate Paws is a focused end-of-life service rather than a general veterinary practice.
We do not seek to replace the family's regular clinic for routine consultations, preventative care, ongoing medical management or general veterinary services.
Will you let us know when one of our patients has been seen?
Where we know the referring or regular veterinary clinic, we can notify the clinic following the visit so the patient's records and your team's communication with the family can remain up to date.
Can you help families who are unsure whether the time is right?
We can talk families through the in-home process and provide quality-of-life resources that may help them think more clearly about changes in comfort, mobility and enjoyment of everyday life.
We encourage families to involve their regular veterinarian where clinical assessment or ongoing medical management is required.
Do you provide aftercare?
We can discuss aftercare options with families and assist with transport for cremation where this forms part of their chosen arrangements.
We'd be glad to support your clients.
